30 - frequently asked questions if one is really made to be a therapist, the impostor syndrome (I receive money from the client, but what do I offer in return?); - a state of insecurity, anxiety, ignorance that seems to never end. The more the psychotherapists read, the more they feel like they don’t know enough. The supervisor repeatedly mentions how important study is, and yet the state of ignorance still exists. The supervisees begin to build a schedule of their activities, where the activity with the clients can become a constant activity, in addition to their personal lives and other activities. Moreover, as the number of clients increases, the supervisees are determined to make some decisions regarding their personal and professional lives, especially if different professional roles are involved. Deciding whether to become a supervisor or remain a psychotherapist generates a lot of anxiety due to the questions: Can I survive financially only as a therapist? What happens if I lose clients? etc. I often tell trainees in training and supervision programs, that psychotherapy is not a secondary game. Creating the psychotherapist ’s identity starts before practicing and trainers and supervisors can be professional models. What one asks for as criteria in the training and supervision programs, demands the trainer and the supervisor to have lived and still practice these criteria. Before holding the mirror for the trainee, the trainer and the supervisors must first look in it. Watkins was talking about professional modesty and humility [11], thus we could also ask the questions: how do you see your professional modesty and humility in the mirror? How did you meet the trainers and supervisors training criteria? During and at the end of the supervision program, I also frequently ask trainees and students for feedback. The trainees’ answers are relevant in sustaining the objective of this paper, thus with their permission and in complete anonymity, extracts of their answers are presented and analysed: “From my point of view, the supervision relationship substantiates the continuation of the supervision process for the future psychotherapist (integrative psychotherapist). The key word is the relationship, because the foundation of the act of supervision rests on it”. “For me personally, there were no critical moments in the supervision relationship because I felt the sincere involvement, emotions and inner turmoil of my supervisor (yours, Loredana) and when someone does everything one can and cares about the other, you don’t need to ask for more from that person. What I can do in this case if offer the same sincerity, understanding, transparency, respect and appreciation.” “I felt in many moments that you contained me and sometimes even carried me in your arms when I did not know / couldn’t / wanted to do what was right and, through your patience, understanding, calmness, kindness and professionalism, you had me. In a symbolic way, this is my declaration of love for you, my asexual supervisor, because you are the way you are and because by your natural and unique way of being you are yourself, an irreplaceable man and a perfect, eternal supervisor on the evolutionary path”. “There were brief moments in training and supervision when fear, doubt and insecurity crept in, but I smelled them in time and drove them away because they
