9 effective and ineffective supervision, inquiring how they experienced dynamics of power and privilege in clinical supervision. 3. Method 3.1. Participants and procedures Upon receiving approval from the university ’ s Institutional Review Board, potential participants were recruited through professional networks, social media, and lists of professional psychology organizations. A brief description of the study, inclusionary criteria for participation, and a link to the study were provided. The Qualtrics link included informed consent and qualitative open-ended questions. The inclusion criteria included a) international students in the U.S. with an F-1 visa, b) currently studying in an APA - accredited Counseling or Clinical Psychology Program or a postdoc trainee receiving clinical supervision and graduating within 12 months, and c) speak English as a second language. Eligible participants provided informed consent and then completed the on-line study. No compensation was provided. A total of 13 respondents agreed to participate in this study, but 3 individuals did not complete all questions in the written questions and were excluded from data analyses. The final sample of 10 supervisees (5 females, 5 males) averaged 31.60 years in age ( SD = 2.80), 8.60 years ( SD = 3.47) of residing in the U.S., and speaking 2.70 languages ( SD = .95). The majority of the sample identified as Asian ( n = 8, 80%), all were heterosexual ( n = 10, 100%), and almost all from Counseling Psychology Ph.D. programs ( n = 9, 90%). 3.2.
