ILIUȘ-OLARIU Ana-Maria 1 1 The Association of Integrative Research, Counselling and Psychotherapy (AIRCP), Emails : ilius_anamaria@yahoo.com Abstract Supervision in psychotherapy represents a relatively new study domain, but absolutely necessary for the supervisee’s development. The supervision concept is thus analyzed from the perspective of a histrionic client case. Personality traits influence the way people perceive life and the way we act and react. The subject is analysed from the perspective of integrative strategic psychotherapy. This approach is a complex and efficient one which results in the development of a therapeutic and a supervisory relationship based on the integrative strategic model, built on six psychological axes (Biological, Cognitive, Emotional, Psychodynamic, Family and Existential) on four layers of the self (basic, central, plastic and external) [1], [2], where blockages appear, interactions and possible reparatory resources. SUPERVISION IN INTEGRATIVE STRATEGIC PSYCHOTHERAPY Supervision represents the particular situation when a beginner therapist gains skills and professional experience under the careful guiding of another therapist. The latter must be both experienced and certified for this particular process. Supervision contains the triad supervisor – supervisee – client, as well as a defined objective, which is the object of the professional relationship. Whereas the supervisee and the supervisor meet in an organised and defined space framework to work on the steps of this process, the client is indirectly present. At the same time, one can argue that the physically absent client is just as present, because the supervisee puts forward personal aspects revealed through the experience with the client.
